Team Deckhand acquired a World Cat 270 TE, a pure fishing machine! Quickly we put the boat to use on a shake-down fishing trip and let her twin 225 HP get us out to the 277 in under an hour.  The World Cat ride is smooth as was the seas, cruising at 30 mph at 3500 RPM's with four on board, ice and gear & a full bag of gas.  Right when we hit the edge line of the 277 we dropped the Madmac in on a 150# rig (VISX 30 & UC CX70 VIPER) knowing the +100 lbs Blue Fins are in the zone and headed for the high spot.

2 minutes after getting up to magic number 13 mph troll speed and having our line 300-400 yards out, we were bit! The reel starts screaming and its dumping line! As the excitement settles we realize we got +400 yards of line out and we get to work.  The fight was fun and after 15 minutes we got the line back on the reel and we were seeing deep color. Another 5 more minutes of gritty work up and around the rail the BFT settled into a pinwheel.  Two gaffs later its was up and over the freeboard at the front of the World Cat, finally baptizing this East Coast boat with Pacific Blue Fin blood. First fish for the Team Deckhand boat, and a good one at 150 lbs. More high-fives and beers on the sunset ride home, after all we left the dock at 1 PM.
